On February 11, 2023, the International Church Adult Department (ICAD) held its 1st Online General Assembly for area representatives, area officers, and local presidents.

The event, which was hos ted on Facebook Live and Zoom, was attended by almost 600 ICAD leaders from the Philippines and abroad. The theme of the assembly was “Mobilizing the Adult Department for Excellent Works this Golden Year of the Church,” which aimed to encourage and empower ICAD members to raise their standard of service to nothing short of excellence. Also for them to actively participate in the celebration of the Church’s 50th Anniversary this year and to contribute to the church’s growth and development in the year 2023 and beyond.

The event started with a Praise and Worship session from the Baguio adult brethren, followed by an opening prayer led by Elder Icen Sunga. ICAD’s assistant adviser Ptr Jim Colico delivered the welcome remarks, expressing his gratitude to all attendees and emphasizing the importance of the ICAD program for 2023.

The assembly also featured inspiring testimonies from Elder Johna Ting and the Garcia Family. Several adult members from Singapore, Dubai and Smyrna Area offered songs of praises, showcasing the diversity and talent of the ICAD community.

The highlight of the event was the exhortation of the word of God delivered by Presbyter Jim Bigalbal, ICAD’s adviser. His message encouraged the ICAD members to be active participants in the Church’s 50th Anniversary.

ICAD’s President, Elder Jun Atlas also presented the programs for 2023 and 2024, outlining the department’s plans and initiatives for the coming years. For this year, the ICAD programs will focus on mobilizing the adult members for excellent works as they participate actively to the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Church. They believe that there is no better year to start a campaign for excellence than this year – gold standard of service for the Church’s golden year. For 2024, ICAD programs will aim to support the holistic development of the adult members so they can be more productive and effective church members by coming up with wide range of programs. It involves from evangelism and discipleship to leadership development, family enrichment, livelihood and health.

The event closed with a prayer led by Elder Roselyn Papagayo. Ten lucky adult members won 50th-anniversary merchandise, while five locale churches won a portable P.A. system that they can use for evangelism.

Overall, the 1st Online General Assembly was a resounding success. The event marked the beginning of an exciting year for the ICAD department, and we look forward to seeing its continued growth and impact in the years to come.
